PRODUCTION OVERVIEW 

​

BIG Live is presenting its full-length ballet of “Romeo and Juliet” on the following dates, at the following locations:

​

• 17th and 18th May 2024 in Theatre 1, Home of The Arts, Gold Coast, QLD; 

• 1st June 2024 in The Civic Theatre, Newcastle, NSW; and

• 14th and 15th June 2024 in the Concourse Theatre, Sydney, NSW. 

​

        (“the Production”).

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES EXIST?

​

• BIG Live is delighted to offer applicants the opportunity to participate in the Production in a supernumerary role.

• Our supernumerary roles do not require applicants to learn, rehearse or perform ballet choreography, nor do such roles require the services of a professional actor. The purpose of such roles is to add depth and character to the relevant scene. 

• BIG Live will cast its supernumerary roles through the audition process described below. 

• Successful Applicants may be formally engaged by BIG Live in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions described below.

 

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

​

• You must be aged between nine (9) and eighteen (18) years old on or before the date of the Production’s first performance;

• If you are under sixteen (16) years of age, you must be able to provide BIG Live with your parent(s’)/guardian(s’) written consent upon request;

• You must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia and be authorised to work in Australia on or before the date of the Production’s first performance;  

• You must agree to the General Terms and Conditions described below. 

 

HOW DO I APPLY?

• All applications and auditions are to be completed online.

• You must first complete and submit the information required in our online application on or before 10 PM AEDT on 14th April 2024 for the Gold Coast Performances and 28th April 2024 for the Newcastle and Sydney Performances  (“Due Date”). 

• With your application, you must submit the following material:

• One (1) audition video in one of the following formats:

  • Link to a YouTube video (Public or Private); or

  • Link to a Vimeo video (Public or Private); or

  • Link to an MP4, MOV or AVI Video on a cloud drive (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive or One Drive).

  • The footage must be compiled into one continuous video, which is no longer than ten (10) minutes in length

HOW TO APPLY 

​

• By submitting an application, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

• You must read the relevant information on this website.

• You must complete all required details at each stage of the online application.

• Applicants may be asked to submit additional information by BIG Live upon written request.

• The application process must be completed by the dates described on this website.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

​

• BIG Live reserves the right to refuse or cancel an application if the Applicant does not fulfil the eligibility criteria.

• BIG Live may, at any time, request the Applicant to provide it with further material in support of its eligibility, as a condition precedent to consideration of the Applicant’s application.

 

KEY DATES

​

• All applications must be made by the due date for each event as listed on this website.

• BIG Live may offer Applicants a position on its wait list for the role. If there is no response to such an offer within twenty-four (24) hours, the offer will be made to the next person on the list.

​

OUTCOME OF THE APPLICATION

​

• Applicants will receive written confirmation of the outcome of their audition within fourteen (14) days following the Due Date to the Applicant’s nominated email address (“Confirmation Date”).

• If written confirmation from BIG Live has not been received by the Confirmation Date, it is the Applicant’s responsibility to contact BIG Live for such confirmation on the means made available to it on BIG Live’s website.

 

APPLICANT ENGAGEMENT

​

• Successful Applicants will be provided with a performance agreement in accordance with the applicable law (including payment in accordance with the Live Performance Award). 

• The Applicant will not be considered contracted or engaged to BIG Live or the Production until such time that the parties sign a performer’s agreement.  

• For the avoidance of doubt, the Applicant’s engagement is subject to BIG Live and the Applicant executing the performer’s agreement, and the Applicant hereby agrees that it may not rely upon these terms and conditions in support of any contract of engagement for any role within BIG Live. 

 

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• BIG Live reserves the right to update any part of these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion.   

• It is the Applicant’s responsibility to check the website periodically for any changes in the terms and conditions. 

• Continued use of or access to BIG Live’s website or its digital platforms following the upload of any changes to these Terms and Conditions constitutes acceptance of those changes by the Applicant.

• BIG Live reserves the right to make amendments to its Audition schedule at any time.

• BIG Live reserves the right to vary the terms of the Auditions at any time. 

• BIG Live reserves the right to terminate any Application for any reason provided for under applicable law.

• BIG Live collects and uses applicant information in accordance with applicable law.

• BIG Live is not obligated to provide any participant or applicant with individual feedback.
